High-speed steel countersinks provide good wear resistance in a wide range of countersinking applications. Also known as machine countersinks, 4-flute countersinks have a long shaft that allows them to be used in lathes, screw machines, and CNC machines. They expand the top of an existing hole in a workpiece to ensure screws install flush with the surface of the workpiece. 4-flute countersinks typically provide more wear resistance than countersinks with fewer flutes.
